Division guitarist Mike Blevins explains: "It's nice to have some happy news to report for a change! After founding member Matt Crooks' departure in August, we interviewed several excellent local guitarists, and we decided that Dave was the best combination of playing and writing ability, personality, and attitude for the future of Division. Dave was the leader of longtime local band Above the Fray and continues to be an active force in the DC Area music scene. We're looking forward to letting the world see what he brings to Division."

Founding member Matt Crooks will be leaving Division to pursue other creative opportunities. He'll be performing his last show with the band on August 20th, at Jammin' Java in Vienna, VA.

We wish him well in his future endeavors.

A few months ago MetalAges Records informed us that they would no longer be releasing any new albums and will be going on hiatus for an indefinite amount of time. When we found this out, we were most of the way through the recording of “Articles of Faith”. Not wanting to throw away many months of recording, we contemplated shopping two songs from the “Articles” project in order to get a new label. However, after many discussions, we have come to the difficult decision to not shop the “Articles” project.

Instead, we will be spending the next few months writing brand new material, and then recording and shopping that material. We are very excited about this because it will be the first time that this lineup of Division has written anything together. The new material is a continuation of the growth from “Ascension to Eternity” to “Trinity”, and we are very confident that it will be well received.

The recording of “Articles of Faith” will be completed in our spare time, however we will not spend any time mixing the project. We hope that once the follow up to “Trinity” is written and released, that “Articles” will be released, but we really have no idea what will happen with the project. It will definitely see the light of day, but we cannot say if that will be next year or in five years.

Division is currently in the studio working on the follow up to "Trinity". The working title of the album is "Articles of Faith" and it will have 14 tracks. The album should be out early in 2005. A demo version of one of the songs will be featured on the ProgPower V sampler disc.

Congratulations to Mike and his lovely wife Malena on the birth of their daughter, Lyric, this morning at about 5:30. Lyric weighs in at 6 lbs. 13 oz. Baby, Mom and Dad are all doing very well.

Ron Kralik has officially been announced to replace Dan as the new bassistfor Division. Ron also plays with the Baltimore based band Critical Path. Full details on Ron can be found in the band bio section.

After seven years, long time Division bass player Dan Plunkett has quit the band. Dan is suffering from a medical condition that has made it very painful and nearly impossible for him to play bass. At this time Dan feels that he needs to stop playing and concentrate on his health. The remaining members of Division wish him a speedy recovery and the best in all of his future endeavors. The search for a replacement bassist will begin immediately. Any interested parties should contact the band at info@division-usa.com.
